So what is this site about?
Well, nothing in particular. I just wanted to share my thoughts and along the way maybe provide tips about some of the things I have an interest in. If you find this site interesting or helpful, great, if you don’t, then there is nothing lost apart from a little of you time.
So what are your interests?
I have several things I have an interest in. Some of them I do because I love the challenge, some I do because I love the sense of achievement it can give me, some I do because I just want to see what happens. The main interests I have are (in no particular order):
- Mac OS X and OS X Server
- Flying Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s or as some people call them, Drones)
- Photography
- Metal detecting
- Weather monitoring
- Travel
- Movies
- Thought provoking questions
- Every day challenges
What is your background?
I spent 27 years in the IT industry and when the company went through a restructure (i.e. I was made redundant), I decided to change my life path to something completely different. I achieved qualifications in the building and construction industry and am now a qualified Rigger. Unfortunately in February 2015 I had a health scare and at the same time injured my shoulder which has (so far) prevented me from returning to that industry. The change I made was the best thing I ever did and I loved that the part of the construction industry I was in (entertainment), meant I would go to work knowing that what I was about to do had to be completed that day, or night.
I still dabble in IT but these days it is with Mac’s and I have to say that was also a change as I used to be a real Windows diehard. The transition was scary at first but I am more comfortable with it now and I would never go back.
